Alpha Swim

Alpha Swim

Alpha Swim is a 12 week course of swimming lessons for young people with a disability. These lessons will be a basic introduction to swimming to encourage children to have fun, be more relaxed in the water whilst learning basic water skills in line with the Swim England Award scheme.

The lessons will be adapted to meet the needs of the child where possible and will have a smaller teacher to swimmer ratio. The basic skills and confidence gained through the Alpha Swim scheme will enable a transition for the child to Stage 1 of the Everybody/Swim England Learn to Swim Scheme.

Who is Alpha Swim for?

  • For any young people with a disability or additional need aged 4 to 17.
  • Not on Learn to Swim Scheme or receiving 1 to 1 lessons.
