Koshido-Ryu Karate Club

Established over forty years ago, Shukokai Karate is a traditional form of karate which combines speed and power to create a practical and efficient system of self -defence.  Our syllabus encompasses all aspects of karate, such as impact training, light contact sparring and practical self-defence.  All our Shukokai (pronounced Shu-Ko-Kai) clubs run beginners and advanced classes for students who want to learn this exciting sport.  All SKU instructors are part of an ongoing instructor training programme.

Children’s Karate – We provide classes within a safe environment focusing on self-discipline, confidence building and fitness, enabling  children to learn this challenging sport.

Adults – (Male and female) – All our classes focus on self defence, self-control, confidence building and general all over fitness.  We cater for students who simply want to keep fit, develop a martial art skill, learn self- defence or compete in club and international competitions.  All ages welcome.

  • Fridays 7.00pm to 8.30pm

For more details, please contact:

Holmes Chapel Harriers Running Club ~ Fridays at 6.30pm – 7.30pm

John Noakes, our resident ‘Mr. Motivator’ takes a group of mixed aged and ability runners each week and brings them back safely, so why not join them? This class is not just for those wishing to enter competitive races, it can be for simple enjoyment or in the pursuit of physical health and fitness and, since running is said to improve not just weight loss, physical appearance and shape but also improve our mental health including memory, there’s not many reasons not to try.

** Please note that regular runners are asked to bring along their own reflective clothing even at times of daylight or during the summer months. This can be provided for beginners from reception to borrow before the start of the class. A drink of water is advisable and a full- confidential -medical questionnaire must be completed before runners take part to ensure their safety at all times. **

John is helpful, approachable and enthusiastic. We hope to see you there. John’s club is also fully affiliated by the National Governing BodyRun In England.
